The 2024 Sierra 1500 offers a wide range of powertrain configurations to help you create your own balance of power and economy. At the base level, a 2.7-litre turbo gas engine delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, while at the top end, a 6.2-litre V8 pushes up the output to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. There's also a diesel option that features a 3.0-litre, 305-horsepower turbo engine that offers 495 lb-ft of torque, for a class-leading towing capacity of 5,942 kg (13,100 lbs). Depending on the trim level, you can pair the engine with either an eight-speed automatic transmission or an enhanced ten-speed automatic, while the standard rear-wheel drive can be upgraded to four-wheel drive for extra traction and control in difficult conditions.

The interior technology features in the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 are equally impressive. At the base level, a six-gauge analog instrument cluster is backed up by a 3.5-inch driver display, with higher trims upgrading to a full-colour 12.3-inch digital information display with personalization options.
The base trim has a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, while higher trims upgrade to a 13.4-inch unit with Google Built-In compatibility. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the range, alongside a Wi-Fi hotspot facility. An optional wireless charging pad rounds off the truck’s impressive amount of available tech.
Advanced Safety Systems
The Sierra 1500’s rugged structure and powerful performance create a reassuring sense of security while driving, but for even greater peace of mind, the lineup also includes a wide range of active safety and driver-assist features. Depending on the trim, options include:
- Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
- Following distance indicator with forward collision alerts
- Lane departure warnings with lane keep assist
