The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport SUV has created a niche of its own, with seating for five and an edgier design. However, just like the Atlas SUV, which has three rows of seating and can accommodate up to 7 passengers, the Cross Sport impresses with interior space and superior driving dynamics.
WHAT’S NEW FOR 2023
The Cross Sport is almost identical to the VW Atlas, except for a sleeker roofline and two fewer seats. It's available in four trim levels for the 2023 model year: Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, and Execline. The latter two trim levels are now offered with the 10.3" Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro customizable high-resolution display.

PERFORMANCE FEATURES
The 2023 Atlas Cross Sport is offered with a choice of two engines: a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder (Trendline and Comfortline) or an optional 3.6-litre VR6 (Highline and Execline). Both engines feature start/stop technology. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder produces 235 hp at 5,400 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque (on premium fuel). The V6 produces 276 hp at 6,200 rpm and 266 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. With either engine, power is transmitted through an 8-speed automatic transmission. 4Motion all-wheel drive with active control is standard across the lineup. When equipped with a factory-installed hitch, V6 models offer a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs with a trailer. Models equipped with the 2.0T engine offer a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs with an aftermarket hitch and braked trailer.
CONVENIENCE FEATURES
The interior is clean and functional. Driver controls are positioned for optimal ergonomics and ease of use, with simple, driver-centric displays. Seat position, shifter height and pedal spacing are all designed for maximum driver comfort and safety. A wide selection of outlets (12V, USB, auxiliary), cup holders, bottle holders, storage nets, and storage bins are available to all passengers. The 2023 Atlas Cross Sport offers a maximum cargo volume of 2,203 litres behind the front row seats with the rear seats folded down, and 1,141 litres with all seats up.
