The 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat PowerBoost is the first full hybrid version of Ford's best-selling pickup. It combines strong performance, innovative utility, and upscale interior features, making it a versatile option for both work and everyday use.

Powertrain & Performance

The PowerBoost system pairs a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 with an electric motor integrated into a 10-speed automatic transmission. Together, they produce about 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque—the most torque ever offered in an F-150 (excluding the Raptor and Lightning).

This setup delivers surprisingly quick acceleration for a full-size truck, with 0–60 mph times around 5.3 seconds. It performs exceptionally well in towing and hauling tasks, offering smooth power delivery and strong mid-range torque.

Generator Capability: Pro Power Onboard

One of the standout features is Pro Power Onboard, a built-in generator system. It comes standard with 2.4 kW of power, with an optional upgrade to a massive 7.2 kW. This allows the truck to power tools, appliances, or even parts of a house during an outage, making it extremely useful for job sites, camping, or emergencies.

Fuel Economy & Towing

The hybrid F-150 delivers up to 24 mpg combined (city/highway), making it one of the most fuel-efficient gas-powered full-size pickups. It also boasts a towing capacity of up to 12,700 pounds and a payload capacity of around 2,120 pounds, depending on configuration.

Real-world fuel economy varies based on driving style, with some users seeing averages around 20–24 mpg, though city driving can lower that.
